Over the past week I’ve been inspired by the care-givers on my table. The nurses, the mamas, the community leaders, the massage therapists. What I’m struck by is the overwhelming capacity for good in this world. In the midst of terrifying headlines, horrific video game releases, (just my opinion) and disastrous storms both here and abroad, it’s easy to feel hopeless and helpless.
Let me shed some light on the darkness…
What I have seen in my/our practice (yes, it’s yours too!) is:
- The home care nurse who goes above and beyond to make her patients well and whole through therapeutic touch and the use of essential oils.
- The mamas and bonus mamas who make the effort to let their kiddos know how important they are to the world.
- The community leader who listens with an open mind and heart to each side of a debate.
- The massage therapist who listened to her body and received healing so she can offering a healing space to her clients.
And the list goes on. My practice is filled with individuals who are committed to their own self-care as a means to serve others. Thank you for taking care of yourselves. I am still a person who believes that world peace is possible. I know, I know. But I am. And this is my way of contributing. Hurting people can only offer hurt to people. When we are well, we offer well-being to others. Amazing.
